NEW INFORMATION: Motorcycle rider flown to hospital after Chippewa Co. crash

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (CHIPPEWA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT NEWS RELEASE) -- On 06/11/14 @ 0919 hrs the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Dept and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a traffic accident with injuries on Hwy 64 at the Hwy 53 overhead. The accident involved a dump truck and a motorcycle. The 51 YOA male occupant of the motorcycle was transported by the Mayo One aircraft with unknown severity of injuries at this time. The operator of the dump truck was not injured. Bloomer Fire and EMS also responded for assistance. The accident remains under investigation by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Dept.
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- As of about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, all lanes of State Highway 64 were open at the scene of the crash.
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Crews have blocked off State Highway 64 in both directions near Bloomer as they investigate a crash.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash happened around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday near the U.S. Highway 53 interchange. The highway could remain blocked off for the next two hours.

There was no immediate word on what led up to the crash.
