ROCHESTER, Minn. (WEAU) -- Crews are about to shut down a stretch of highway because of flooding.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says it will close Highway 60 at the entrance to Wabasha, MN Thursday at 1 p.m. It will detour traffic. A low-lying area is flooding there, and the department says the water is still rising. The closure will stay in place until the water has receded enough that it's safe for drivers.
For drivers headed north, the detour is Highway 61 north to Hiawatha Drive east into Wabasha. Drivers going south on Highway 61 will take the Hiawatha exit to their left to go to Wabasha or cross the bridge into Wisconsin.
