NEW INFORMATION: Names released in fatal Dunn Co. crash


EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The names of the two women killed in the a head on crash in Dunn County have been released.

Deputies say the driver of the 2000 Toyota Corolla Kimberley E. Kresen, 19 of Eau Claire died at the scene. The driver of the Cheverolet Aveo was was Joyce J Dawson, 62 of Rock Falls. Dawson was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith says the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. Friday night on Highway 85, just east of Rock Falls.

The state patrol is reconstructing the crash scene.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) --Investigators have responded to two traffic crashes in Dunn County.

The first crash near Eau Claire has left two people dead.

Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith says it happened around 5:45 p.m. Friday night on Highway 85, just east of Rock Falls. When they got there they found two vehicles had hit head on, and two people dead.

He says the state patrol is now reconstructing the crash scene.

The names of the victims have not been released.

The second crash happened just 30 minutes earlier on State Highway 25 about two miles south of Menomonie.

The sheriff's department says a car going southbound crossed over and crashed with a northbound car head-on. It says the female passenger in the south bound car was air-lifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. A captain says her condition is unknown, but they did not appear to be life-threatening.

The driver from the north bound car also had to be taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Names have not been released.
