EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Pavement problems are again making travel tricky in the Chippewa Valley.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says crews blocked off both lanes of State Highway 29 west at County Road T in Chippewa County around 4:30 p.m. Friday because of "emergency pavement repair." Traffic is being directed onto the right shoulder to get around it. Crews also have highway 29 west blocked off at 90th Street, which is a few miles east. Traffic there is being directed onto the left shoulder. Troopers say the highway lanes could re-open around 5:30 p.m.

On Thursday, roads buckled in three places in the Eau Claire area, including two on Clairemont Avenue. The other led to a crash on the 53 Bypass in Altoona that injured two people.
