NEW INFORMATION: Bus with children on board goes into ditch in Chippewa Co.; no injuries

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Wisconsin State Patrol reports that all lanes of traffic have been re-opened at the crash scene.

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) --Crews have a stretch of State Highway 178 north blocked off near the scene of a bus crash.

It happened near 200th Street, which is north of Jim Falls, around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday. The closure could last until about 5:40 p.m. Chippewa County Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk said the school bus was from the Chippewa Falls United School District, and had 10 middle school and high school students on board. Sheriff Kowalczyk says the driver was going north on highway 178 and dropped some children off. The bus then backed into a private driveway, but turned too sharply, and went into a ditch. Nobody was hurt. Another bus was called in to pick up the kids.
