BARRON, Wis. (WEAU) -- UPDATE: The Wisconsin State Patrol says as of 5:10 p.m., all lanes of Highway 25 between State Highway 48 and U.S. Highway 8 are open to traffic.

BARRON, Wis. (WEAU) -- Crews have shut down a stretch of State Highway 25 because of high water on the road.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Barron County Sheriff's Department posted the picture on this story, which shows the intersection of highway 25 and 17th Avenue. The Wisconsin State Patrol says highway 25 is closed in both directions between State Highway 48 and U.S. Highway 8. Deputies say several town roads in the area are also closed.

Crews plan to monitor the condition of the roads to determine whether they can be open after the water level goes down.
