TRAFFIC ALERT: Highway 29 reopened to traffic

(WEAU) - The Wisconsin DOT says Highway 29 eastbound reopened to traffic a little after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

It took around four hours to repair the highway.

Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire, Wis. (WEAU) -

The left lane of US 53 southbound is now fully repaired and open to traffic. It was closed from Melby Street to the Chippewa-Eau Claire County line due to pavement buckling earlier Tuesday.

And traffic is backing up on Highway 29 near Seymour Cray Boulevard in the eastbound lanes after pavement buckled there as well Tuesday afternoon.
