Tammy Baldwin and Ron Kind honor Senator Kohl

WEST SALEM, Wis (WEAU)- Senator Herb Kohl, Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin, and Congressman Ron Kind all attended the corn roast in West Salem Thursday night. The roast is an annual event put on by Kind and his team, but this year it had more significant meaning as it was a night to honor Senator Kohl for his 24 years of service as Senator. Currently Democrat Tammy Baldwin and Republican Tommy Thompson are campaigning for Kohl's seat in the upcoming November election. At the event Kohl seemed confident that Baldwin should be his replacement.

"Wisconsin is a swing state and from one election to the next you never know what is going to happen. I think this year we will be strong. Ron Kind will be re-elected. I believe Tammy Baldwin is going to be our next senator taking my place," said Kohl.

The recent polls show Baldwin tied or slightly a head of Thompson. Congressman Kind believes that it Baldwin continues to be herself she will seal the win.

"Tammy doesn't have to fill Kohl's shoes. Tammy has to be Tammy. I've worked with her and no one is going to work harder for the people of Wisconsin than Tammy," said Kind.
