EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A teacher at an area high school sacrificed some hair Friday as a tribute and a celebration.

Ms. Judine Brey, a teacher at Regis High School got a nice close buzz Friday afternoon, that was 4 years in the making.

She agreed that if the schools forensics group made it to the state competition four years in a row, that she would have her head shaved.

This year, their act "The Romancers" made it to state, making it their 4th consecutive year.

She says it was all part of the send off for state.

"After school today we leave for the state contest, so this is part of our big send off...I'm going to be bald at the state competition.

She says she also got her hair cut as a tribute to her mother who died or brain cancer more than a year ago, and to her older sister who is a breast cancer survivor.
