Teenager killed in crash near Bloomer

BLOOMER, Wis. (WEAU)--A teenager was killed in a crash near Bloomer Thursday.

It happened just before 11 a.m. on Highway 40. The State Patrol says 17-year-old Shayla Story from Bloomer was heading south when she missed a curve, drifted onto the shoulder and rolled.

Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. She was taken to a Bloomer hospital and then flown to a hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, but died on the way there.

No one else was involved in the crash.
