(WEAU) - The Eau Claire Alzheimer’s Association held an all-day event to raise money for the fight against Alzheimer’s.
It's called The Longest Day, a national event organized by the Alzheimer’s Association. People raised money by exercising in morning, then attending an art show, shopping and eating at businesses along Barstow Street Wednesday evening. The day was capped off with a movie.
Organizers say Eau Claire is one of only two cities to host the event in Wisconsin. “Azura Memory Care is a big funder of the need for cure, and so we saw this event and we want to participate and we want to get the community involved as well," Paula Gibson said.
The group says 1950 people have Alzheimer’s in Eau Claire.
