EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- More than 1,000 area 2nd graders spent the day working up a sweat and learning about healthy living habits.

It was all part of Sacred Heart Hospital's "Fit Kids" event held Wednesday at the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center.

The kids learned everything from heart-healthy exercises, to bike safety, to hand washing and healthy eating. This was the 36th year the hospital hosted the event. Several health and safety organizations in the Eau Claire area also helped out.
