EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Thousands of people got a chance to tour the world without leaving Eau Claire Sunday.
People packed the Davies Center at UW-Eau Claire to take in the sights, tastes and sounds of the world at the annual International Folk Fair.
At the event guests could go around to the different countries and get a "passport" stamped.
Organizers say the gathering is a way to showcase the cultures of the university's international students.
“we want them to engage and learn about each other and different culture that they maybe don’t have a lot of access to or a lot of knowledge about,” student organizer Maria Carvalho said.
About 40 different countries were represented by different student and community organizations at this year’s event.
