Three people were hurt in Monroe County crash

MONROE, Wis (WEAU)— Three people are were injured when the car they were in hit a tree in Monroe County.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says it was notified at 5:23 p.m a crash located on CTH G approximately ¼ mile East of Eureka Road in the Township of Byron.

The driver Ronald Jones, 24 and passengers, Elizabeth Shaw, 20 and old Brandy Shaw, 17, were headed westbound on CTH G when Jones lost control of the and it went off onto the eastbound shoulder of the road and struck a tree.

Brandy Shaw was transported with possible life threatening injuries by the Tomah Area Ambulance Service to Tomah Memorial Hospital. From there she was flown by Spirit Air of Marshfield to Gunderson Medical Center in La Crosse. Ronald Jones was also transported by the Tomah Area Ambulance Service to Tomah Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Elizabeth Shaw received minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office
