MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Forecasters say brutally cold temperatures aren't expected to release their icy grip on Wisconsin any time real soon.
Brisk northwest winds pushed feel-like temperatures down to 35 below in many areas of the state Thursday morning.
It's so cold the Milwaukee Brewers won't allow fans to camp out for tickets to Saturday's "Arctic Tailgate" event. Fans originally planned to start setting up camp at Thursday noon. The Saturday event at Miller Park marks the beginning of sales for individual game tickets for Brewers home games.
The extreme cold made it difficult for firefighters working a fire at a Racine school early Thursday. Fire Chief Steve Hansen says the weather caused their hose lines and nozzles to freeze. He says one firefighter slipped on the ice, but is OK.
