Tourists spending more money in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) Tourism spending continues to increase in the area.

A report from the Tourism Department shows visitors in Eau Claire County spent $320 million in 2013, that's up $11 million from the year before.

This week is National Tourism Week, and Visit Eau Claire is at local businesses trying to get the word out.

"A lot of people are really amazed when they hear 320 million is what's really raised in the community and its really to engage people ..some pride in the community..where people live and it's a place where a lot of people like to visit and spend their money as well

On Saturday, Visit Eau Claire will be at the Downtown Farmers Market and will present more than $20,000 in grants to help local groups and events that draw people to Eau Claire.
