MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Traffic was backed up on I-94 near Menomonie on Sunday after a three-vehicle crash.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says it happened just before 5 p.m. in the westbound lane of I-94 near Broadway Street at Mile Marker 41.

Troopers say driver Jonathan Dieck of Plymouth, MN was driving at highway speeds and stopped too late in high traffic. He swerved to the right, hitting a vehicle driven by Ryan Murphy of Eau Claire which was stopped in the right lane. Diecks vehicle then hit another vehicle that was stopped in the left lane driven by Philip Pole of Blaine, MN.

Dieck had minor injuries but wasn't transported.

The right lane remained open after this crash and both lanes were open by 5:35pm. Dieck was cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
