Trailer runs over boy during Arcadia parade

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A person was treated and released from an area hospital after a trailer ran over him during the Broiler Days Parade.

It happened on State Highway 95 near Arcadia on Sunday afternoon. The Wisconsin State Patrol says Joshua Paulson, 9, was handing out candy during the parade. He was on a tandem axle trailer that a pickup truck was pulling as a float. When he tried to get off the trailer to hand out more candy, he slipped and fell. That's when the trailer ran him over. Troopers say the trailer was rated to haul 6,000 lbs., and was a "pretty good size trailer."

Paulson was flown to the hospital, where he was later released.
