Tree fell on top of vehicle, 4-yr-old transported for precautionary reasons

BERGEN, WIS. (WEAU) -- A 4-year-old was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons when a tree landed on top of a vehicle in Vernon County.

Sheriff John Spears said it happened on Friday on State Hwy 35 south of Mohawk Valley Rd. in the Town of Bergen.

45-year-old Todd Slaght of Fennimore and passenger 4-year-old Auden Slaght were headed south on Hwy 35 when a tree broke in half and landed on top of the vehicle.

Spears said no injuries were reported for Auden was taken to the local hospital as a precautionary measure.

Seatbelts were worn at the time of the crash.

Assisting at the scene was the Shelby Police Department and the Vernon County Highway Department.
