Tree limb knocks power out to more than 1,000 people

(WEAU) - With how warm it was outside, it was a bad day for a tree limb to fall on a power line on the south side of Eau Claire. That's exactly what Xcel Energy says happened around 5:20 a.m. Thursday afternoon.

It says a tree limb fell on a line behind a house on the 800 Block of West Lexington Street, causing power to go out for more than 1,064 customers.

Xcel says the outage lasted right around 30 minutes.
