Trial set for man accused in Wis. clinic fire

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Trial arrangements are set for the man accused of setting a fire at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Green Bay nearly three months ago.

Francis Gerald Grady is charged with arson and damaging a reproductive-health facility. His trial is set to begin July 9.

At a pretrial hearing Thursday, both sides agreed he could attend the trial unshackled and in civilian clothing.

The government says it plans to play a video of Grady acknowledging his guilt to investigators. Grady allegedly told investigators he broke the clinic window, poured gasoline inside and lit the fluid.

At an April hearing Grady initially said he planned to plead guilty. But in a handwritten letter dated June 16, he said he would plead guilty to breaking the window but not to arson.
