NEW INFORMATION: Name released of truck driver hit and killed by train

BALDWIN, Wis. (WEAU)-- UPDATE: Deputies have released the name of the truck driver who was hit and killed by a train in St. Croix County Monday.

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Department identified the man as 53-year-old Benjamin C. Morgan of Hudson. Deputies say he was driving a 1998 Mack Truck listed to Tri County Sanitation Inc. out of Hudson.

Deputies say just before 11 Monday morning, a Union Pacific train was heading west when it hit Morgan's truck that was traveling south. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the train was hurt.

Deputies say the crossing has a yield and railroad crossing sign.

BALDWIN, Wis. (WEAU)--A truck driver was hit and killed by a train in St. Croix County Monday morning.

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Department says it happened at a railroad crossing on 150th Street in the Town of Hammond, northwest of Baldwin.

A Union Pacific train was heading west when it hit a septic truck that was traveling south.

The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. That person's name hasn't been released. No one in the train was hurt.
Deputies say the crossing has a yield and railroad crossing sign.

The crash is under investigation.
