Two Eau Claire families displaced from their home after fire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Red Cross is assisting two families displaced from their home after an early morning fire.

The Eau Claire Fire Department says they were called to a fire at a duplex on Third Street around 2am Saturday morning.
Fire crews say when they arrived everyone had made it out of the building safely but they found light smoke in the second floor apartment. Crews located the fire in the attic.

They were able to get the fire under control but the damage to the building is estimated at 25,000 dollars.
No one was injured in the fire.
