Two children among those injured in Barron Co. crash

SPOONER, Wis. (WISCONSIN STATE PATROL NEWS RELEASE) -- On June 13, 2014 at approximately 8:33am, the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a two vehicle crash on CTH D, near 18th Street, in Barron County.

A vehicle driven by Ole Ryan Leiter, of Hillsdale, WI, was northbound on 18th Street, approaching CTH D. Leiter failed to stop/yield the right of way to a vehicle that was westbound on CTH D. This second vehicle was driven by Howard F. Prince, of Eau Claire, WI. Leiters vehicle collided with Princes vehicle at this intersection causing moderate damage to both vehicles. Princes vehicle also had two young passengers, Jayden Meyer (age 5) and Carton Meyer (age 4). Prince and Jayden received minor injuries as did Leiter. All occupants were transported to the Barron Hospital, where they were treated and released.

Leiter will be cited for fail to yield the right of way from stop sign.
