Two dead in St. Croix Co. traffic crash

A stretch of State Highway 35 was shut down for about three hours as crews worked at the scene of the crash.

HUDSON, Wis. (WEAU) -- Two women have died in a wreck that involved three cars.

It happened just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on State Highway 35 north of Somerset. The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office said Amanda Day, 24, of Osceola hit a car driven by Terry Baillargeon, 60, of Somerset, as she tried to pass it in a northbound lane. Day then hit an SUV in the southbound lane. Goldie Culver, 83, of Apple Valley, MN was driving it. The SUV went into a ditch on the east side of the road.

Day and Culver both died in the crash. Baillargeon went to the hospital with injuries.
