Two people arrested in armed robbery in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU)-- Two people were taken into custody in an armed robbery in La Crosse.

The La Crosse Police Department says around 5:30 Thursday night, police were notified of an armed robbery in progress at an apartment on 1129 9th Street South. When officers got there, two suspects were still inside the apartment. Police surrounded the building and eventually both suspects came out and were arrested.

One of the suspects is a 15-year-old boy. The other was identified as 23-year-old James D. Green from La Crosse.

Police say two women and two young children were in the apartment.
One of the victims told officers the suspects knocked on their door and then forced their way into the apartment.

One suspect had a black plastic mask on his face while the other suspect had a dark hoodie around his face, with a hood over his head tied close together. The victim says the suspects demanded cash and one of them showed a handgun. The victim was able to call 911 during the robbery. Officers found a .357 revolver in the apartment.
