Monroe County Sheriff Peter Quirin reports a motor vehicle crash that resulted in injuries to two parties. The crash occurred at about 3:25pm on July 12th, 2014 on Hwy 71 just east of Locust Rd. in the Town of Wilton.

A 2002 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Christian D. Brieske-Mendoza age 16 of Norwalk was east bound on Hwy 71 when he lost control of his vehicle and went into the ditch. His vehicle followed the ditch line and hit a culvert. This caused the vehicle to vault across a driveway and land in the ditch. The vehicle then went into a cornfield where it came to a stop.

The driver and his 16 year old passenger Shauna L. Erickson of Westby were transported by Wilton Ambulance to Tomah Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Department at the scene were the Wilton Ambulance, Wilton Fire department, and the Monroe County 911 Dispatch center.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department
