BALDWIN, Wis. (WEAU) -- Traffic was at a standstill following a crash caused by a sleepy driver Saturday afternoon in St. Croix Co.

The Wisconsin State Patrol said two people were hurt in the crash. It happened on I-94 westbound near Baldwin just after 12:30 p.m.

Troopers said the driver, 20-year-old Elliot Shin of Madison, fell asleep at the wheel and went off the road. The car rolled and came to a rest in the median.

Elliot and his father, 54-year-old Keesam Shin, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Elliot was cited for inattentive driving.

The left lanes of the interstate in both directions were shutdown for emergency responders and reopened just before 2 p.m.
