Two suspects arrested in Altoona drug raid

A SWAT team responded, and used what investigators describe as a "distraction device." It makes a loud noise, but does not cause damage.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Investigators arrested two people after searching a home and finding heroin and cocaine.

The suspects, Anthony Jackson, 33, of the Chicago area, and Amanda Hazelton, 32, of Altoona, were both in the Eau Claire County Jail on Thursday afternoon. Andy Falk with the West Central Drug Task Force says officers served a search warrant at a home on Harriet Street in Altoona, which is on the west side of the city, around 12:40 a.m. Thursday. They found 1.5 ounces of powdered cocaine and nearly 1/4 ounce of heroin. "That's a lot of heroin...for our area," Falk said. Jackson is accused of selling heroin, crack cocaine, and cocaine. He says investigators had done multiple "controlled buys" from Jackson. Falk says Jackson has an "extensive history of violence and weapons," and has been arrested for selling cocaine before.

A SWAT team also responded, and used what Falk described as a "distraction device." He said that it makes a loud noise, but does not cause damage. Jackson and Hazelton are both scheduled to appear in court on Friday. No criminal charges have been filed in the case.
