Two suspects in custody after high speed chase

CLARK COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- Breaking news as Chief Deputy Jim Backus with the Clark County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that two male suspects are in custody after they shot a rifle at officers.

The two male juveniles were caught Wednesday night in Green Bay.

A report came in Wednesday evening a little after 5 of a stolen vehicle northeast of Abbotsford. The Clark County Sheriff's Department was also told weapons and ammunition were stolen.

A short time later, a Clark County deputy found the vehicle and pulled them over, but during the stop, the two juveniles took off and a chase began.

During the chase, Backus says the passenger in the car fired a rifle at a Colby/Abbotsford squad car that had joined the chase.

The chase continued to the Lublin area, which is west of Medford, but at that point law enforcement lost the car.

Backus says the juveniles then stole a second vehicle.
