TOWN OF SARATOGA, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Wood County Sheriff's Dept. said three people are in jail after an attack that hurt two people over the weekend in the town of Saratoga near Wisconsin Rapids.
Investigators said they arrested 30-year-old Gabriel Lopez and 37-year-old Yasmin Lopez in Portage County on Monday. 18-year-old Vitana Lopez was taken into custody on Sunday.
The suspects are facing charges of physical abuse to a child, substantial battery, burglary and criminal damage to property.
Deputies said around 7:15 p.m. Sunday, they were called to a home in the 800 block of Hwy 73 in Saratoga. Investigators said six or seven people pulled up in a silver minivan and began hitting another vehicle with baseball bats and blunt objects.
Deputies said a 17-year-old girl and a man inside the home were attacked. They were treated and released from the hospital.
They're still looking for three or four other suspects. Deputies said the investigation revealed the incident may have been retaliation for a fight that occurred the night before in the Red Granite area between the 17-year-old girl and one of the suspects.
Two suspects are wanted in connection with an assault in Wood County that sent one person to the hospital and left another with significant injuries Sunday night.
The Wood County Sheriff's Department says deputies were called to 899 State Highway 73 South in the Town of Saratoga around 7:15 p.m. for reports of an assault.
Investigators say six or seven people pulled up to that address in a silver minivan, possibly a Chrysler, and began damaging a vehicle with baseball bats and other blunt objects. According to officers, a 17-year-old girl was attacked during the incident. She was taken to the hospital for her injuries. A man inside the home was also hurt, when the suspects entered the home and began assaulting him.
Deputies say the group fled the scene in the silver van. They believe this incident may be in retaliation for a fight that happened the night before in the Red Granite area between the female victim and one of the suspects.
Authorities have identified three suspects at this time, one has been taken into custody, 18-year-old Vitana Lopez. Investigators are still seeking 30-year-old Gabriel Lopez and 37-year-old Yasmin Lopez on charges of physical abuse to a child, substantial battery, burglary and criminal damage to property.
Both victims have been treated and released, according to the Wood County Sheriff's Department.
