EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Two teenage girls have been charged with prostitution, accused of soliciting at an Eau Claire hotel.

The two teens, both from Milwaukee, made their initial appearances Thursday in Eau Claire County Court.

They are 17-year-old Elicia Burrows and 17-year-old Jasmine Robinson.

Both girls have been charged with prostitution.

Officers from the Eau Claire Police Department say it was an anonymous tip call that led them to the Super 8 Hotel on MacArthur Drive early Wednesday morning.

“And gathered information that led to the arrests of two individuals for various charges including prostitution,” said Officer Kyle Roder.

Police say Elicia Burrows and Jasmine Robinson were in Eau Claire to sell their bodies for sex, charging customers $150 per visit.

“They had been putting escort ads on for some time,” Officer Roder said.

Robinson, a 17-year-old high school student, is now accused of getting her sister into the sex trade.

“Jasmine Robinson was also charged with trafficking of a child, that was the result of a 16-year-old female that was also present at the hotel,” Officer Roder said.

Both girls faced a judge Thursday morning, and were both given $500 bonds.

But why did they choose Eau Claire?

“The location of Eau Claire is one that we do get a lot of transient crimes, we often get people that come through on I-94. With websites like, we are seeing ads popping up where people will travel a distance for escort services,” Officer Roder said.

This is the first time the big city teens have been charged with prostitution.

Online court records show Robinson has previous charges of possessing marijuana and retail theft.

Burrows has no criminal background.

“We do rely on community members to contact us when they know of something that’s going on,” Officer Roder said.

Both teens will be back in court next month.
