MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WEAU) - Two arrests were made Wednesday in the attempted armed robbery of a 96-year-old store owner in Wood County.
The Marshfield Police Department says they arrested Cordell Ellingson, 17, and a 13-year-old juvenile involved in the attempted robbery last month.
Police say the 13-year-old juvenile admitted to entering the Wolf’s Grocery wearing a mask holding a pocket knife and demanding money. When the store owner, Margie Wolf, 96, refused to give any money the juvenile ran.
Ellingson is being charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for encouraging the 13-year-old to commit the armed robbery.
Both suspects were interviewed and confessed to their involvement.
