Two men arrested after drug bust in Black River Falls

(WEAU) Black River Falls-Two people were arrested after a drug bust in Black River Falls.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department says on Monday around 7:30 p.m., a Black River Falls police officer stopped a vehicle after the driver was found to not have a valid operator’s license. After making contact with the driver, Daniel A. Triplett, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department K9 unit was called. Officers say a positive drug sniff of the vehicle was conducted and a small amount of marijuana was found in the passenger compartment. A further search found about 27 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, plastic bags, a large amount of cash, and other items of paraphernalia, which officers say indicated the sales of narcotics. Some of the cocaine was packaged in amounts common for the sale of cocaine.

The passenger, Fontel J. Brown, and Triplett were both arrested for a felony charge of Party to a Crime of Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, along with other offenses and booked into the Jackson County Jail. Brown is from the Chicago, Illinois area and Triplet is a former resident of Jackson County. Both men are being held without bond until their initial court appearances where bond will be set.
