33rd annual UCP Telethon fund raises more than $218,000

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) --The 33rd annual United Cerebral Palsy Telethon was a big success this year.

200 volunteers participated in this year's annual fundraiser.
The money raised helps close to 700 families in the surrounding twelve counties.

Julie Enders has been a part of the Telethon for 33 years. Born with Cerebral Palsy herself, Enders says without the organization her life would have been completely different.

"They've help me so much over the years; from ramps and other equipment, to just advocacy skills. Without the funding the UCP can provide, a lot of the equipment we need and require wouldn't be able to be funded,” said Enders.

This year the Telethon fundraised more than $218,000, which is $3,000 more than last year.
