MADISON, Wis. (OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR NEWS RELEASE) -- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved a natural disaster designation for Pierce County, Wisconsin.
“Farmers across the state have had to deal with severe weather this summer,” Governor Walker said. “I thank Secretary Vilsack and the USDA for providing assistance to our hard working farmers. This designation means they will have access to the resources they need.”
On August 6, 2013, Pierce County and seven counties in Minnesota suffered extensive hail damage. This designation means farmers are eligible for Farm Service Agency (FSA) assistance, including emergency loans.
