USPS releases four site possibilities for new Eau Claire Post Office

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WEAU) – The United States Postal Service has released a list of four possible sites as it decides where to move its Eau Claire Post Office.

A letter at the existing facility on S. Barstow Street says that the existing buildings that are considered “contending” are at the corner of East Madison Street and Forest Street, Graham Riverside on Graham Avenue, and new developments on North Barstow and Wisconsin Streets, and North Barstow and Madison Street.

USPS Spokesman Pete Nowacki says a site could be picked in about a month. The USPS hopes to move the Eau Claire Post Office within a year. Nowacki says the existing building is too big for the USPS’ needs, and it’s looking at moving into a smaller space. The new facility would only have retail and post office boxes. It would not have mail processing or letter carriers.
