UW-Eau Claire men's hockey beats Utica 5-1 in Frozen Four; will play for National Championship

The UW-Eau Claire men's team will play for the NCAA Division 3 national championship Saturday night after beating Utica 5-1 in the Frozen Four Friday in Lake Placid, New York. Jordan Singer scored the first goal for the Blugolds in the second period to tie the game at 1, then Ross Andersen and Kurt Weston tallied two goals apiece as UW-Eau Claire scored five unanswered goals. All-American goalie Brandon Stephenson was outstanding between the pipes.
The Blugolds will play Oswego State, who beat Norwich, VT 6-3 in the other Frozen Four game on Friday, in Saturday's national championship game.
