UW-Eau Claire receives grant for geospatial program

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) A department at UW-Eau Claire is undergoing a massive transformation with a nearly $500,000 grant.

The grant, from Growth Agenda for Wisconsin, is being given to the university to help with the recently popular geospatial program.

The money will go towards new technology, to help give the students more real-life and hands-on experiences in the field using GPS And remote sensing equipment.

The U.S. Department of Labor says the geospatial field is one of 14 high growth and high demand fields in the country, and is expected to grow by 35% each year.
