UW-Eau Claire Press Release
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has been named a 2012 Best Midwestern College by The Princeton Review, a New York City-based education services company.
UW-Eau Claire is one of 153 schools in a 12-state region to receive the "Best Midwestern College" designation. The schools are listed on The Princeton Review's website.
Kristina Anderson, executive director of enrollment services and director of admissions at UW-Eau Claire, said UW-Eau Claire continues to attract talented students looking for a transformative college learning experience.
"UW-Eau Claire, with our focus on high-impact educational practices, is a good match for students who are eager for a meaningful education," she said. "From cultural immersion opportunities to faculty/student collaborative research to study abroad, students have the opportunity to find their niche and to prepare for both lifelong learning and employability. Being recognized for that excellence by The Princeton Review is certainly an honor."
This year student opinion data from a total of 629 schools is featured on the "Best Regional Colleges" section of PrincetonReview.com, which focuses on the best colleges in four regions and is aimed at raising awareness of excellent but lesser-known colleges for students looking to study within a specific geographic area. The 629 "regional bests" represent about 25 percent of the nation's 2,500 four-year colleges.
Colleges chosen had to meet The Princeton Review's standards for academic excellence within their region and allow their students to participate in an anonymous survey. Students' comments are posted in "Students Say" sections throughout each college's profile on the "Best Regional Colleges" website.
