MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) A long serving leader at UW-Stout will be honored long after his retirement this summer thanks to a scholarship fund set up in his name.

UW-Stout says its Foundation Board of Directors is creating a fund to honor Chancellor Charles Sorensen following his retirement from the University this summer.

The scholarship fund will give out at least one annual award based on qualifications established by the Chancellor.

Sorensen will leave UW-Stout on August 15, ending 26 years as the longest-serving leader in the university's history.
