UWEC parking lot and road closing Wednesday

The west half of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Phillips parking lot and the road connecting the lot and Putnam Drive will be closed July 18 until midday July 21. (See campus map for lot and connector road locations.)
During the closure, the surface of the lot will be finished and striped. On July 21, barricades will be removed and the parking lot, the road and the wooden footbridge from Putnam Drive to the lot will be reopened.
The gates on the Garfield Avenue campus hill will remain open during the closure. From July 18 until the removal of the barricades July 21, traveling from upper campus and down the hill on Garfield Avenue will be the only way for vehicles to reach the Nursing Building, Thomas Hall, Putnam Hall, McIntyre Library, Schofield Hall or the Ecumenical Religious Center adjacent to campus.
