The Club’s more than 40 programs engage youth in five core areas: Character & Leadership Development; Health & Life Skills; the Arts; Sports, Fitness & Recreation; and Education & Career Development. The Club serves youth from 3-8 p.m. during the school year and from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays during summer, school breaks and non-school days.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)-- What would you do with a new bike? That's what United Healthcare asked local Boys and Girls Club members.

It's all a part of an essay contest for a chance to win a new bike.
15 winners were chosen and were presented with a new bike Thursday.

9-year-old Jessica Weigel is one of the winners and already has a bike, so she plans to do something special with her prize.

"I said that I would donate it to the Community Table for a Christmas present to a kid," Weigel said.

Club members all had the opportunity to submit their answer in essay form.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley serves more than 2,500 area youth annually through membership, community outreach and special events.
