WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) -- About 3,000 people interested in urban and small farms are expected to be in the Milwaukee area this week.
The 2nd National-International Urban & Small Farm Conference is being held Friday through Sunday at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis.
It's being hosted by Growing Power, a nonprofit organization that promotes sustainable farming methods. Its founder and chief executive officer is Will Allen, a former professional basketball player.
More than a dozen workshops and conferences will be offered, with farm system experts from across the country.
