Vet service raising money to help family's dog in Clark Co. crash

(WEAU) -- Three people were killed in two crashes that happened in Clark Co. after heavy rains washed out a road.

It happened on County Road M Wednesday night near Neillsville.

A Milwaukee couple, Thomas and Susan Jurceka, were killed in the first crash.

Then 24-year-old Mary Malinowski of Thorp was killed after crashing into the ravine in her SUV.

A dog was also hurt in the crash. Diana Care with the Grassland Veterinary Service in Granton says the dog named Duke was rescued.

The husky belonged to Malinowski.

Care says the crash shattered Duke's thigh bone and it will cost around $2000 to fix him.

She says the family of the woman wants to keep Duke.

The vet service now wants to raise money to help the family out with vet costs for Duke, noting how the family also will be taking care of funeral costs.

If you're interested in helping with the vet costs for Duke, donations can be sent to Grassland Veterinary Service, PO Box 100, Granton, WI 54436.
