Vice Chair of DNC talks business during Eau Claire stop

(WEAU) - Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak was in Eau Claire Tuesday.

He's the vice chair of the Democratic National Committee and sat down with Eau Claire business owners to listen to their concerns about the economy and discuss President Obama's small business plan.

Rybak says Obama believes Wisconsin's small businesses are at the forefront of job creation. "In Minnesota or Wisconsin we know that if you give a small business owner a fair break, level playing field, maybe an incentive here or there to hire or invest in a business, they'll soar. That's what happened with my parents’ drug store and the small business people here and that's what the President's about," he said Tuesday.

Senator Terry Moulton, who is also a small business owner, reacted to Rybak's visit by saying he's worried about Obama's plan.

Moulton said "I'm concerned that President Obama is actually looking at increasing taxes on small businesses, especially when you look at from what I understand, the Obama care effect will be on small businesses because I've been told and read that 53% of small businesses will see a tax increase because of that healthcare proposal."

Moulton says Obama needs to stop blaming former President George W. Bush for the state of the economy.
