WEAU viewers donate hay and feed to local couple hit by thieves

WEAU (Cadott) - After thieves took dozens of bales of hay meant to feed rescued donkeys, our viewers step up to save the day.

As we told you last week, a Chippewa County couple who rescued 3 donkeys from a nearby farm became the target of thieves.
Someone took 45 bales of hay from the Marion farm in Cadott.

The hay was for the rescued animals and with high hay prices, the family returned their Christmas gifts to buy feed. After our story aired a Chippewa Falls family donated 45 bales of hay, a Holcombe woman donated 500 pounds of oats and cards with money came from Neillsville, Winona and even Iowa.

Cal Marion says it's restored his faith in the human race.
