Walker criticizes Burke on minimum wage

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker says his Democratic challenger Mary Burke is calling for increasing the minimum wage because she has no job-creation plan.

Walker said Wednesday that the best way to increase wages in Wisconsin is to help employers create more jobs that pay far higher than the minimum wage. Walker says that's been his approach.

Walker opposes raising the minimum wage and last month said those are advocating for that are just engaging in "political grandstanding."

Burke on Sunday came out in support of raising state's minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour.

Walker says the only reason Burke is talking about that is because she doesn't have a jobs plan.
