Walker takes part in ribbon cutting ceremony for Ashley Furniture expansion

WHITEHALL, Wis. (WEAU)-- Governor Scott Walker made a trip to Western Wisconsin on March 10th to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Governor was at Ashley Furniture for the ribbon cutting of the company's new 80,000 square foot facility in Whitehall.

The new $13 million expansion project doubled the size of the existing building. Walker says Ashley Furniture is an iconic Wisconsin brand, and says it's companies like Ashley that lead the way in hiring skilled workers.

"Our state has one of the highest percentages of any state in the country that's dependent on manufacturings economy," Governor Walker said.

Since 2012, Ashley Furniture has added 300 employees in their Whitehall and Arcadia locations, including 100 new jobs for the new addition.
