Wausau police squad hits pedestrian

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities say an elderly man is hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a police squad in Wausau.
Investigators say the 89-year-old man was walking in a lane of traffic when he was hit Tuesday about 10 p.m. Squad video shows the car was going 24 mph when the man was struck.
Officials say the man was dressed in dark clothing.
The officer driving the squad was not injured.
